News · 11 May 2025
Ellele Health recently took part in the Edinburgh Endometrial Cancer Study Day, a collaborative forum led by Ellele’s Chief Medical Officer Neil Ryan, bringing together experts from healthcare, research, and industry to explore the development of an end-to-end model of care for endometrial cancer in Scotland.
The meeting created space for wide-ranging and aspirational discussion, drawing on the collective expertise of participants to examine key areas across the patient pathway. Topics included research priorities, referral pathways, pre-treatment investigation and optimisation, and the role of supportive care and mental health. The forum also explored the impact of genetic testing on treatment decisions, alongside the evolving role of robotic surgery and strategies to support equitable implementation and access.
Ellele Health’s CEO, Megan Badenhorst, and Principal Scientist, Ana Crespillo-Casado, contributed to discussions on novel diagnostic approaches for endometrial cancer, sharing insights into Ellele’s sampling technology and the potential benefits it offers to researchers, clinicians, and patients. The forum also considered broader perspectives on endometrial cancer, including prevention, inherited risk, personalised therapies, and emerging treatments.
Further discussion groups and meetings are now planned, with the aim of translating the outcomes of the Study Day into actionable recommendations that support improved, joined-up care for people affected by endometrial cancer across Scotland.
