Introduction

Historically, women have been underrepresented in clinical research. Absence of large-scale, high-quality datasets leave many gynaecological conditions poorly understood, decelerating development of novel diagnostics and therapeutics.

Ellele Health is addressing this gap by building a Women’s Health Biobank with a growing collection of biological samples representative of several gynaecological conditions, including gynaecological cancers.

Our biobank is designed to support biomarker discovery and the development of foundation models for reproductive health that can power next-generation diagnostics development and accelerate therapeutic discovery for gynaecological conditions.

Biological Samples

Ellele Vaginal Samples

Ellele Sampling Device is used to collect cervicovaginal mucus in ~4 ml of buffer from all patients participating in studies led by Ellele Health or conducted with partners.

Blood

Up to 10 ml of blood is collected from patients participating in studies led by Ellele Health (optional) and conducted with partners (as needed).

Urine

Up to 20 ml of blood is collected from patients participating in studies led by Ellele Health (optional) and conducted with partners (as needed).

Ascites

Ascitic fluid may accumulate in the abdominal cavity and is commonly associated with advanced ovarian cancer. Samples are collected when applicable.

Tumour blocks

Cancer tissue samples collected during surgery or biopsy are preserved for detailed pathological and molecular analysis. Samples are collected when applicable.
